Changing past states or situations - past continuous
7/23Past continuous es el tiempo verbal que indica una acción o condición que estaba ocurriendo en el pasado, pero que no ocurre en el presente. Past continuous se utiliza en las siguientes situaciones en el pasado:
- Antes o después de otra acción
- Antes o después de un periodo de tiempo especÃfico
- Una acción que continúa por un tiempo
- Acciones repetidas
- Acciones temporales o cambiantes
La estructura está constituida por el verbo to be en pasado y la acción conjugada en present participle (-ing).
Subject + was / were + action verb (-ing) + complement.
Ejemplos de acciones temporales o cambiantes utilizando past continuous
Algunas oraciones que utilizan este tiempo verbal son las siguientes:
- She was living in Rome at the time.
- They were studying in Germany during the early 1990s.
- She was celebrating her graduation last year.
