We use adverbs to describe verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They often have the form of an adjective + -ly. There are many types of adverbs, and the ones ending in -ly are usually adverbs of degree (e.g., totally, completely) and adverbs of manner (e.g., quickly, slowly).
